We Welcome the Anglican Church of the Redeemer to the Missionary Diocese of All Saints

A Snapshot of The Anglican Church of the Redeemer ~ Boulder, CO

by Fr. Dick Miller

(a grateful member of the MDAS)

In his preface to Mere Christianity, Anglican author C.S. Lewis writes:

The reader should be warned that I offer no help to anyone who is hesitating between two Christian “denominations.” You will not learn from me whether you ought to become an Anglican, a Methodist, a Presbyterian, or a Roman Catholic. This omission is intentional (even in the list I have just given the order is alphabetical). There is no mystery about my own position. I am a very ordinary layman of the Church of England, not especially “high,” nor especially “low,” nor especially anything else.

Whether by design or accident, the Anglican Church of the Redeemer in Boulder could be described in much the same way – not especially high or low. While we are unashamedly Anglican in belief and worship style, it means more to think of ourselves as a little expression of God’s Kingdom on earth. And we are here to bring the King glory as we encourage others to join the rule of God on earth whether it be the Anglican, Methodist, Presbyterian or Roman Catholic expression of it.

The Anglican Church of the Redeemer is very ordinary and most people like it that way. There’s nothing glitzy or glamorous about us…just ordinary people from many avenues of life dedicated to the faith and practice of the early Christian church. In fact, we have found the “ancient faith” to be very relevant and modern when it is applied properly to the challenges of the present world. Dedicated to the “mere Christianity” of Anglicanism and C.S. Lewis, we desire with God’s help to make that belief and practice applicable to today’s challenges and problems.

We were founded in 2009 as a church plant of the Anglican Mission in the Americas. And while that relationship has ended and a new one has been established with the Anglican Church in North America through the Missionary Diocese of All Saints, we welcome anyone who wishes to serve and worship God in “spirit and in truth.”

Please visit our church’s site on the web at www.boulderanglican.org to find out more. Or better yet, join us some Sunday morning for worship or join in one of our outreaches to Boulder like the weekly nursing home service, a Life Group study, or the CS Lewis book club discussion.
